Hi guys and Happy Leap Day!We spent the weekend in Sonoma County, tasting delicious wines and amazing views, aka my favorite things in the world. I’m working from gorgeous San Francisco this week, and so far I’m loving everything about Northern California.
We spent a week in San Francisco and Napa back in 2013, but for some reason I didn’t love it as much back then as I have during this trip. In fact, I can’t help thinking perhaps I need to live here. I’ll admit that happens a lot when I travel, but never so strongly as this. Is it possible that my love for DC is waning? Or has all the sunshine and mild weather gone straight to my head? The jury is still out.
Either way, we’ve so enjoyed driving all over Sonoma County and then back to San Francisco taking in all of the sweeping, dramatic views from rolling hills to fog-covered mountains to the famous Golden Gate Bridge. We’ve met a bunch of great people and had a fun dinner with two friends who went to Ohio State with Tom.
I’m working on catching up with work stuff and blog stuff today, but stay tuned for a week full of California love here on Bad Sentences!
In the meantime, here are a few of my favorite shots from the first few days of our trip.
The view from Paradise Ridge Winery – so much green and sunshine!
Sonoma loves me, and I love Sonoma.
Bodega Bay, lovely even under cloudy skies.
Wine, sunshine and scenery makes for two very happy Kishes.
The sunset from our hotel room, looking forward to four more of these.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Northern California is making a strong case for me right now.
Love these pics, Kacy! Especially the one of you and Tom 🙂
Can’t wait to read more about the food, wine, and sights!
Thanks Parita! We are really bad about remembering to take pictures together, so I was really glad to see that one turned out well 🙂
Of all places I have been to, Santorini is my ultimate place to live. Such a beautiful Greek island with amazing sunsets, excellent beaches, stunning scenery, interesting history, and just a laid-back “small town” vibe all around on the island. If you ever come here, then there is a small winery on it worth checking out! I didn’t get to do a tour, but bought a bottle of white wine to bring home with me – until it got confiscated at the airport because it was not packaged properly for the flight. D’oh!
I am dying to visit Greece, and now I want to go even more! I always forget that there’s wine there too, which makes it even more appealing for me 🙂
oh yes there is…lot’s of wine all over Greece!
California is such a gorgeous place. I always leave wanting to live there!! The sunshine is enough to make me want to move!! That sounds like an amazing experience!
I feel the same way, the sunshine is addictive out here! I wish I could bottle it and take it back to DC, where we’re likely to be greeted with snow when we return on Friday. Oy.
I visited California for the first time last year and fell in love. It reminded me of Greece a lot (the Mediterranean flora you see)!
