As the nights get cooler, I tend to crave more nights at home with my two main men and the remote. The windows open, candles burning and a delicious meal on the table pretty much equals my ideal fall evening. Everybody loves to Netflix and chill, but it’s hard to chill if you’re slaving over a hot stove. The great thing about DC living is that you’re never more than a few iPhone taps away from a delicious meal of your choosing. For one such cozy night in, we turned to Grubhub for fast and piping hot delivery from Ping Pong Dim Sum. Because, dumplings.
(I spy an interloper…) This was kind of the perfect takeout situation because we were able to go crazy and order a bunch of stuff without winding up with loads and loads of fatty food (because if it’s there, I’ll probably eat it before the night is over). The Thai sweet corn soup and the spicy steamed vegetable dumplings were both the perfect comforting bites for a chilly evening while the crispy beef and char sui buns with roasted barbecue pork packed a satisfying protein punch.
Add a few beers from the fridge and a tear-inducing episode of This Is Us (or, in the case of October, a scary movie) and all is right with the world.
Grubhub’s delivery service is fast and professional and most importantly, our food arrived steaming hot (because nobody wants soggy, cold dim sum). We received a text as soon as the food was being prepared, when it was out for delivery and when it arrived. The constant notifications allowed us to get a workout in at the gym while our food cooked and arrive home just in time to grab it and chow down. (Grubhub also has an app for further convenience.)
Craving your own night in? I’ve got good news! From today, Saturday October 15th, through Sunday, October 30th you can use the code BadSentences7 to get $7 off your first order. Let me know what you get, I need inspiration for my next fall night at home!
This is Us is such a great show! It certainly fills the void when Parenthood went off the air.
Agreed! That was my first thought as well 🙂
