I was finally able to attend my first #DCTravelBlogger meet-up earlier this month, co-hosted by Visit Holland at 701 Restaurant. It was such a wonderful evening catching up with new and old blogger friends and learning more about the beautiful country of Holland and its myriad dreamy destinations I’ve since officially added to my bucket list. To top the night off on an extra exciting note, I won one of the giveaways – a Dolci Gelati gelato growler!
We stopped in to their Shaw location earlier this week to claim it, and of course sample some of the delicious flavors to decide which to take home in our growler.
We are already huge fans of Dolci Gelati, and always find something new to love every time we stop in. If you think the shop is just about delicious scoops of authentic Italian gelato, you’re in for a tasty surprise. On this particular visit, we bit into seasonal cherry blossom gelato pops dipped in fudge and drizzled with white chocolate…
Sipped a refreshing vegan coconut smoothie with strawberry, banana and pineapple blended with coconut gelato and felt transported to a tropical paradise…
And toasted Sgroppinos, made with sorbet and Prosecco, a light and fizzy cocktail that will soon be available when Dolci Gelati launches their new happy hour.
Dolci Gelati also offers pastries, espresso, sundaes, puppy gelato and so much more. But let’s talk about the gelato growler situation. These eco-friendly containers hold three pints worth of your favorite gelato without the waste of throw-away containers. You can mix and match two or three flavors, or go big with one of your favorites. They’re great for entertaining as well, but so far we’ve kept ours all to ourselves for a little nightly indulgence.
Dolci Gelati’s gelato growlers are available for $45, including your first fill, and each additional fill is $25. If you’re looking for recommendations on what flavors to choose, we loved the honey mascarpone fig, peanut butter cup, vegan salted caramel and Greek yogurt. But really, you can’t go wrong whatever you choose.
Thanks again to #DCTravelBlogger and Dolci Gelati for our growler and a delicious gelato tasting!
Gelato growlers?!?! Now I’ve seen it all!
