Exploring the Caminhos de Pedra

BrazilPosted by Kacy

14 May

While in Bento Goncalves, we strayed from the wine trail to visit the Caminhos de Pedra (translating roughly to the stone paths), a series of old or old-style houses aimed to show tourists the traditional way of life of Italian immigrants in the late 1800s.
Caminhos de PedraThis beautiful area is great for history buffs, families or anyone looking to learn more about how the Italian culture became so dominant in this region of Rio Grande do Sol. If you’re so inclined, you can dress up in Italian immigrant clothes for a photo opp, have a wine tasting and lesson about winemaking in the Cantina Strapazzon or browse the many available gift shops for souvenirs.
